Events:Handing of City Bus Operations to Thromde

April 6, 2020 .

Hon’ble Judrel Lyonpo acknowledged all agencies involved in this process having made it possible for such a smooth transition amidst the heightened COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country. We all must understand that it does not, in any way, indicates or reflect the shortcomings of Bhutan Post in provision of city bus services. The Government’s decision to transfer the mandate of city bus services to Thromde is mainly aimed at achieving better coordination to ensure effective and efficient services as Thromde is responsible for putting in place the urban transport infrastructures and facilities.

With the occasion of handing over management and operation of city bus services, we are step closer to realizing our common objective of traffic congestion control within the Thromde and provision of reliable, affordable and safe transport options to the general public.

Government would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank the leaders, management and staffs of Bhutan Post, past and the present, for their concerted effort in achieving the progress.

And we hope and are confident  that Thromdes, under the able and dynamic leadership, will live up the expectation of government and largely for the public.
