The Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) as the nodal government agency responsible for the overall development of ICT infrastructure and services in the country is pleased to present the 2021 Nationwide ICT Household Survey Report.
National ICT Household Survey Report
With Information & Communications Technology (ICT) playing a critical role in the socio-economic development of our country, the ICT survey was carried out during the month of March and April 2021 with the objective to:
• Understand the current national ICT access, use, perceptions and penetration levels;
• Understand the rural-urban gap on ICT literacy, services and facilities; • Set up a baseline database for the ICT sector;
• Study its impacts on social and economic development.
The questionnaire and sampling methodology used for the survey are in line with the standards laid down by the National Statistics Bureau (NSB) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The Ministry is hopeful that the report will serve as a useful input during the formulation of policies, plans and programmes by all the relevant agencies. We are also confident that the survey data will prove beneficial to academics, researchers and students alike.
