Department of Information Technology & Telecom (DITT), today conducted a consultative workshop on the “First Draft of Government Web Standards” , at the MoIC Conference Hall. ICT Heads and webmaster from government agencies ,participated in the workshop and shared their feedbacks on the draft developed by iTechnologies in collaboration with DITT.
The standards is expected to ensure consistency across all government websites and increase accessibility & usability.The guidelines will establish a framework for the creation of professional Government websites that needs to meet the minimum criteria for best practice website usability and accessibility design. It will also ensure that Government websites are made citizen centric and user friendly.
The government websites today, are developed in different platforms and hosted in different development platforms with varying architecture and information outlay which requires user learning, for navigation.
